Proston State School is in the South Burnett area, 40 km west of Wondai and has been serving the town of Proston and surrounding rural areas since 1924. We have a proud history and a strong community base with strong support from our P &C and links to other community groups.
Our school community strives for the 'optimum development of all in our care' and our focus is on 'Every day Every Student is Learning and Achieving in Every Classroom'.
To help all members of the school community achieve this goal, we have four school rules:
Be a learner
Be respectful
Be a co-operative
Be safe
We offer a range of opportunities for students including our Kitchen Garden Project for primary aged students and our Rural Studies Program for secondary students. In 2010 the school established our cattle breeding program as a registered Limousin Stud - Dangora Gully with the support of local breeders and the local community. The Rural program also explores small cropping and poultry/egg production and supplies eggs to the local community.
Students from Years 6 to 10 participate in camps specifically developed to meet the unique needs of each age group and we offer a range of Active After School activities each term. Students participate in sporting events such as Cross country, Swimming and Athletics Carnivals as well as some inter school sporting events for students in Years 6 to 10.
Please take the time to explore our website and don't hesitate to contact our school office if you have any further questions.
